For more than six decades, we have been an auditing and tax consulting firm combining tradition with constant innovation.
We advise companies of various sizes, sectors and legal forms. Our eponym, Dr. Hans Schmitz, who retired in 2009 at the age of 78, steadily led the firm to success. He set a good example of the need for succession arrangements to safeguard the future of a company.
As early as January 1, 1989, Dipl.-Kaufmann Peter Simon and Dipl.-Betriebswirt Friedhelm Bücken were admitted as partners.
By retirement of Dr. Hans Schmitz, Dipl.-Kaufmann Andreas Knop, a very experienced German public auditor and tax consultant, joined the firm as a new partner.
After his retirement as a partner in 2010, Friedhelm Bücken continued to support the company as a freelancer before leaving the firm at the end of 2015 to enjoy his well-earned retirement. Thus, we also guarantee the continuity every client expects from his long-term auditor and tax consultant.
As of January 1, 2017, we furthermore enlarged the circle of our partners. Upon his graduation in Business Administration, Jochen Gilles started his professional career with us. In the years that followed he passed the examinations as a tax consultant and German public auditor successfully and enhances our professional profile as an additional partner.
